Aejah’s project revolved around comparing male mouse behavior after exposure to either physical environmental enrichment and isolated housing, or physical environmental enrichment and group housing. She studied male vocal response to broadband vocalizations.

Summer 2021 CISAB REU Program

Gabriel studied how male mice modulated their vocal behavior in response to broadband vocalizations when they were in the presence of odor from conspecific males. See how Gabriel and I explain the project in our feature on the National Research Mentoring Network’s website.

Summer 2022 CISAB REU Program

Makenzie’s project assessed a variety of courtship behavior in direct interactions in mice that were either socially isolated with no physical enrichment, or socially isolated with physical enrichment.

Lucas helped investigate vocal behavior during direct interactions after exposure to varying levels of social and physical enrichment.

Aleena is helping to assess vocal behavior of mice exposed to varying levels of social and environmental enrichment during sociability assays.

In the fall, Sadie is excited to get hands on experience working in the lab and learn about life in graduate school.
